Cricketers
In 1863, The Cricketers was described in local licensing rolls as 'two old cottages converted into a beer-house'. At that time the property also included a newly-built cottage on the site of two previous dwellings. An out-building in the grounds of the tavern was used as a meeting place and a shop.
The present day pub is a picturesque survival from the late 17th century and derives it's name from the cricket matches which had been played for generations on Sarratt Green.
Now, sadly it is no longer a village pub, but a Blubeckers Eating House (a posh McDonalds?).
The bikers, that have met there for many years have gone to the Boot at Tower Hill, just a couple of miles north.
