Chesham
Residents and visitors to Chesham benefit from a wealth of man-made and natural leisure facilities. The town's rural Thomas Harding was the forerunner of many Chesham dissenters, in witness of which meeting-places and citadels of Baptists, Calvinists, Congregationalists, Quakers, Salvationists, Wesleyans, Zionists and United Free mix freely together in the middle of the town and spread towards the outskirts, while right in the centre the lovely perpendicular church of St Mary tries to put the record straight with a cross in the churchyard bearing the inscription: 'To the Glory of God and to the Memory of Thomas Harding, Martyr of Dunsgrove, Chesham.
