Latimer

The green sports a modest, if queer, memorial - to a horse which was involved in saving the life of a lord of the manor, Lord
Chesham, during the Boaer war. Latimer House, Lord Chesham's former home,
stands prominently on the hillside and looks inviting from below. It went on to become
the Ministry of Defence's Joint services staff College.

Once the home of the Liberty family before moving to The Lee - the Regent Street store's founder, William Liberty, is entombed near Latimer House (see Walk 1).
