Whelpley Hill Coronation Hall

We are delighted to say that our village hall has undergone an amazing transformation in recent years. The first phase of work involved a front extension to provide disabled facilities and storage rooms, removal of the old asbestos roof, new windows and complete re-roofing. The second phase of work began in the Autumn after we secured grants from the National Lottery Awards for All and Bucks CC. This work included insulating and reboarding the interior of the main hall, redecorating, new heaters, and enlarging and refitting the kitchen. The hall is looking fantastic and the hall committee would like to thank everyone involved with the project.

The hall was built in 1937 from public subscription and local fund-raising events. It was named the Coronation Hall in honour of King George VI’s Coronation of that year.

Until our recent refurbishment programme little had changed in the hall since 1937, so the refurbishment was long overdue! If anyone has any memories of early events held in the Whelpley Hill hall, we’d love to hear from you, please get in touch.

The hall has a large enclosed garden and off street parking, so if you’re looking for a hall to hire either for a one off event or regular club/group meetings why not come and have a look. The hall is ideal for children’s parties, wedding receptions, dance classes, martial arts, Brownies, Cubs, and so on, and our hire charges are very reasonable. If you’d like more information or wish to hire, please call: 07543 385597.
