Walk 2
Starting from the green, facing the Boot Inn, turn right. After passing the village post office, turn down a path (Church End). Go through a parking rea and cross a series of stiles along the left edges of fields, then enter a wood
to reach a crossing track. Turn left through a kissing gate and follow the left edge, maintaining direction at the corner of a copse to head for the Church. The Cock Inn is on the left.
Bear right in front of the church, keeping a holly hedge on your left.
Cross a stile by a gate and ignor a path on the left, continuing along a wide track.
Go through a gap and bear left to cross a stile in the hedge.
Follow the left edge to cross a stile onto a lane.
Turn right, uphill and after passing a farm drive on the right, turn left onto Dawes Common.
Keep right at a fork, then bear right at the next fork to reach a crossing path.
Turn left. At a path junction, turn left again, through a gate, and follow the left edge of a plantation.
Cross a stile and bear right to cross a stile in a hedge. Cross a lane and a stile, bearing right across the next field. Go over a pari of stiles in the corner, and bear right over a stile.
Follow a wire fence on the left, cross a stile in the corner and turn right up a lane to reach a road.
Turn right and, after 150 yards, turn left, immediately taking the left for along a path.
Go over a crossing path and leave the wood over a stile.
Bear right to a stile in a hedge. Turn right to a crossroads (the Plaough is to the left) and take the concreted track to the left of the telephone box.
Where the concreted ends, bear right at the fork and follow a path for half a mile (Penman's Green). Go through a gate and after a 150 yards turn left along a wood. Cross a stile on to Chipperfield Common.
Cross a track and continue. Follow this path, ignoring all turnings to reach the cricet pitch.
Cross the War Memorial and turn right through a paking area. Now bear right along a wide path, following it to the Apostles pond.
Keep left of the pond and cross a stile by a gate. Follow a pth through a kissing gate and continue along a lane, passing (or not) the Cart and Horses. At the road, turn right towards Commonwood. after 500 yards, by the Tudor House, fork left to reach Bottom Lane.
Almost immediately go right over a stile signed for Sarratt Green.
At the top of a climb go over a stile and follow a fenced path into a small housing estate.
At the main road turn right, back to the Cricketers (which you passed at the beginning) to reach the start.
