Phil Armour

Phil Armour 2010

Phil - after the Isle of wight 2010 trip

Phil, who lived at The Bourne, passed away on Sunday 18th December, 2011 after a brave & courageous battle against cancer.

Only 55, Phil was a faithful friend and enthused everyone around him with his excitment of anything a bit technical – from bread-making, iPhones, iPatches (good sense of humour too) to classic scooters and cars.

Sometimes frustratingly for his friends, he was a perfectionist in everything he persued. He leaves a son Daniel and a lovely wife Clair.

The Funeral service will be held in Hampden Chapel Chiltern Crematorium (Amersham) on Monday 9th January 2012 at 1.15pm.

Family flowers only – Donations if desired to the Hospice of St Francis c/o Tadmans, Kings Langley –  or to any other outlet to St Francis – they are really wonderful.

Anna Karenina

Anna Karenina, a novel by the Russian writer Leo Tolstoy is being filmed on Bovingdon airfield.

It stars Jude Law, Keira Knightley and Aaron Johnson.

Correction: The film is called Anna Karenina not Anastasia as first posted.

Local job opportunities (Warner Bros) – Abbots Langley

If you have enthusiasm, personality and a flair for customer service, the perfect new stage for your career is opening up for you at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London next year.

Set to open in Spring 2012, the 150,000 sq ft attraction will give the public a breathtaking ‘behind-the-scenes’ view of how the Harry Potter movies were made, allowing visitors for the first time ever to step on to the actual sets seen in the Harry Potter film series. And, of course, the warm welcome that visitors receive from our staff will make a huge difference to their excitement and enjoyment of the three-hour experience.

Over the next few weeks and months, we’re looking to recruit people at all levels and have a range of customer facing roles to fill. So whether you’re interested in becoming a tour guide, working in retail or taking on an important front-of-house role, keep an eye on the Time Warner career page for the latest openings.
