Pudsey – The Movie

Simon Cowell will play a dog in ‘Pudsey: The Movie’ being filmed in Sarratt as I speak. The 53-year-old music mogul is to portray a pooch pal of the loveable canine, who shot to fame with his owner Ashleigh Butler last year when they won ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, with his fellow ‘Bgt’ judge David Walliams signed up to voice the titular mutt. A source said: ”It’s the perfect pairing. Simon and David had such great chemistry and banter on Britain’s Got Talent that it makes sense to get them together for the movie. ”If David is voicing Pudsey then who better to play one of his furry friends…
“Virgin Media”.

Bovingdon ‘Fury’

Rumor has it that Brad Pitt took a break from filming on Bovingdon Airfield to get some chips from our local fish and chip shop. (ok, its not really a Sherman Tank).
He has been seen practicing as an American tank commander for a film called Fury – the name of the tank – being filmed on the airfield. Also stars Shia LeBeouf as one of his crew members.

‘They find themselves behind enemy lines in Nazi Germany (being constructed on the airfield) in April 1945, when the war is coming to its end’.

Due for release 2014.

Caravan site in Bovingdon

How many have read this planning application as published in The Hemel Gazette this week? Zoom in, and hidden under application 01185/13/lbc (somebody changing their staircase) is

Not too many I suspect. It reads as:

Planning Application: 4/01343/13/Ful Go search this application, the link may not work because you need to agree to terms and conditions.

Change Of Use Of Land To Use As A Residential Caravan Site For 8 Gypsy Families, Each With Two Caravans And A Utility Building, Including The Laying Of Hard standing, Land West Of Bobsleigh Hotel, Hempstead Road, Bovingdon. Exactly where? Here is a proposal from 5 years ago:

The Scott Wilson report puts the site on Bovingdon Airfield (voted top site) adjacent to Chesham Road with access via Molyneux Avenue, first left, where the Banger racing used to be and the control tower. However its planned to be in the field right (facing) of the Bobsleigh.

Jack Pennington

Jack Pennington (68)

Jack moved to Chipperfield Road, Bovindon in the 70s from Pinner, where he had started his first company only to be knocked and lose it all. He survived and built a very successful print company, ActaPrint, in Watford.
Although only given years to live, he fought off his initial cancer back in the 90s and continued to be the much loved character he will be remembered for.
Sadly it returned earlier this year, and after various complications his body finally gave up the long fight.
Much missed – our very best wishes go to Janet and children and Dad.

Funeral Amersham 12 noon on Thursday 22nd August.

Bovingdon under seige!

Work is soon to start on a new housing block and associated works to accommodate an additional 240 prisoners at the Mount. This will increase the total number of prisoners to 1008. The Prison will remain a Category C prison.
The proposals are for three new buildings comprising a 3 storey housing block, kitchen block and a facility for Sports.

Builders lorries will be routed via Box Lane and Molyneaux Avenue.

In addition the modernisation of Little Hay golf club, involving remodelling of most of the holes and installation of multi-shot driving range, water harvesting system through construction of irrigation lagoon, attenuation lake and drainage system.
