Plans have been put in to Dacorum Borough Council for the demolition of ‘The Bull’ Pub (and barn) at the bottom of Bovingdon High Street, and the development of the site to provide 7 dwellings.  There would be 3 two bedroom apartments and 1 one bedroom studio flat in a two storey building on the Church Street/Chipperfield Road corner, linked over an archway to a terrace of 3 two bedroom cottages along Church Street.

‘The Bull’ (17th/18th century) is a Locally Listed Building in the Conservation Area, and is an important part of the village gateway at ‘The Well’

Full details of the application are available in the Parish Council office.  The Parish Council Planning Committee will consider it at its next meeting on Monday, 31st January.

Also note minor development proposal of 8 High Street, Bovingdon, Hemel Hempstead, Hp3 – Loon Fung Chinese Takeaway in Bovingdon: change of (opening hours) in planning permission 4/00297/81 and change of use from shop to shop for sale of hot food.
