Bringing the airfield back?

Planning application: 4/01377/11/LDE

“Use of land for the taking off, landing, manoeuvring and parking of light aircraft” – from the new owner of Berry Farm, Whelpley Hill. [This is for his own section of 650 meters x 49 meters wide runway].

The airfield site still houses a VOR navigational beacon, code BNN. The airspace above the airfield and nearby Chesham is known as the Bovingdon stack and is a holding area for aircraft approaching Heathrow Airport.

This application was withdrawn and not rejected as first posted.  See replies.

An application for a Certificate of Lawfulness’  has subsequently been filed.
